Abstract: High-speed optical interconnection is an effective technology to solve electrical bottleneck in high performance supercomputer systems. However, tens of pJ/bit power consumption for optical interconnection system limits it from the practical application. This proposal will research on low-power consumption micro/nano optoelectronic integration system targeting high performance individual devices such as modulator and wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX). Another challenge faced by the optical interconnection system is the thermally stable. We propose to study and fabricate athermal(or with minimum thermal compensation) Si micro-ring based MUX/DEMUX and electro-optic modulator. Less than 1 pJ /bit optical interconnection system will be expected at the end of the program
